Honda Vtec Kits

These kits are for manual vehicles only. Its intention is to be able to control vtec (variable vavle timed lift electronic control) to run the larger secondary lobes on the cams. These kits should be installed my a professional to avoid braking parts or heating up traces. This vtec kit will not enable vtec on a non vtec motor as non vtec motors does not come with the vtec mechanical parts ( unless you have a vtec motor or a vtec head on a non vtec block then it will work).

VTEC Conversion Service

As P28 are getting harder to find at reasonable prices, we offer vtec installation to convert your ecu into a P28 spec. We install all parts necessary to convert your non vtec ecu into a vtec ecu. When converted, you'll be running exactly as a P28. This is for USDM ecu or similar. This service includes fast shipping back to you. Check to see if you have one of these non vtec ecu. P05 P06 PR4(obd1) P74 P75.( Eventhough its converted to run vtec, you can also convert back just by simply burning a stock map and replacing the chip in the ecu.) We encourage you to open your ecu and check to make sure that it can be converted before shipping it out. There is a number indicated on the PCB board. It should have one of these three numbers (the letter "X" indicate a number present but not needed) Vtec Kit requires the chip kit to enable vtec on cars not originally equiped with vtec.

What is VTEC?

VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) is a valvetrain system developed by Honda to improve the volumetric efficiency of a four-stroke internal combustion engine. This system uses two camshaft profiles and electronically selects between the profiles. This was the first system of its kind. Different types of variable valve timing and lift control systems have also been produced by other manufacturers (MIVEC from Mitsubishi, VVTL-i from Toyota, VarioCam Plus from Porsche, VVL from Nissan, etc). It was invented by Honda R&D engineer Ikuo Kajitani.[1] It can be said that VTEC, the original Honda variable valve control system, originated from REV (Revolution-modulated valve control) introduced on the CBR400 in 1983 known as HYPER VTEC.
